When people loathe you, there is nothing you can say right. When they like you, there is nothing you can say wrong. They will defend you to the grave if need be. This is a product of anchoring. Where their first interaction with you, informs every other you'll have.

It is a bias that goes unnoticed. And it takes some time to correct. Even the most intelligent of men succumb to it. It is prejudicial when the emotion is hate. It is enabling when the feeling is admiration. It is prevalent on all facets of society.

It is for this reason, you should not obsess so much with who likes you & who doesn't. No one is ever right all the time. No one is ever wrong all the time. Interactions are an exchange of values and opinions. There is bound to be some conflict somewhere.
